Australian surfer Layne Beachley won her 7th ASP Women's World Title following the elimination of her only title rival Chelsea Georgeson in the quarterfinals. Defending world and event champion Georgeson was eliminated by Australia's Claire Bevilacqua who was elimated later in the semifinals. Beachley held the crown last in 2003. Of the 7 World Titles she's won this is her 5th at Honolua Bay.

Australian surfer Jessi Miley-Dyer eliminated local Hawaiian surfer Melanie Bartels from Triple Crown contention passing the 2006 Vans Triple Crown of Surfing to Peruvian surfer Sofia Mulanovich.

Some outstanding surfing from Australian surfer Jessi Miley-Dyer, as she defeated newly crowned 2006 ASP World Champ Layne Beachley in the semifinals and later Keala Kennelly in the finals.

Miley-Dyer opened up the final heat strong with a 6.25 first wave and followed it with an 8.0 that would seal her lead for the remainder of the heat. Naming Jessi Miley-Dyer this year's Billabong Pro Maui Champion.

The finish of the Billabong Pro Maui also concludes this year of women's competitive surfing on the ASP Tour. The combination of talent and swell that came to Honolua Bay this year made for a lively day of competition.

Congratulations to the three winners!
