First Film in Series Featuring Team Rider Yadin Nicol Will Premiere Across the Globe During the Boost Mobile Pro of Surf Presented by Hurley, September 9-15, 2007

Hurley logo 250.jpgHurley, the leading global youth brand with strong roots in surf, skate, art and music, today announced “Sound and Vision: Volume 1,” the first set of short surf films under the company’s “Sound and Vision” quarterly series. Each 15-20 minute episode will profile Hurley personalities and team riders, including rising star Yadin Nicol, international favorite Rizal Tanjung, surf icon Rob Machado, and multi-talented Tim Curran, among others. The “Sound and Vision” film series will give fans a look inside the exciting and dynamic worlds of Hurley’s leading athletes, documenting the sights and sounds from incredible locations like Bali, Australia and Africa, and everywhere in between. Hurley’s “Sound and Vision” series will launch worldwide during the Boost Mobile Pro of Surf presented by Hurley, taking place from September 9th-15th at Lower Trestles, CA.

The first film to lead the series follows young Australian talent, Yadin Nicol, as he sets his sights on the World Championship Tour. Featuring music by Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, the film captures Yadin as he surfs with his closest peers and lends insight into what makes him tick, from the waves to the local watering hole. One of the top athletes from Southwest Australia, Yadin is loud, uncut, incredibly talented and impossible to ignore.

“Our surfers’ experiences are such a big part of who they are--both as competitors and as people,” said Kevin Meehan, vice president of marketing, Hurley. “With the ‘Sound and Vision’ series, we’re excited to deliver high-quality content through our expanded web site on a frequent basis, giving fans a better understanding of what these guys are all about and what makes each of them so unique.”

With over 300,000 people anticipated to watch this year’s live webcast of the Boost Mobile Pro of Surf presented by Hurley, the worldwide launch for Hurley’s “Sound and Vision” series is expected to be the largest surf film premiere to date. In addition to the exclusive webcast during the contest, Hurley is hosting ten satellite viewing events around the country, two of which incorporate the ‘jumbotrons’ at the Pier in Huntington Beach, CA and the City Walk in Orlando, FL.

Additional films under the “Sound and Vision” title are scheduled for release later this year and throughout 2008. Episodes will be distributed through Hurley retail partners and available to download at www.Hurley.com, in conjunction with the launch of the brand’s new interactive web site.
