Jeep Body Glove Surfbout Kicks Off

One of the most prestigious surf contests on the mainland returns for another season
The Asp WQS four-star Jeep Body Glove Surfbout returns to the world famous Lower Trestles in San Clemente, California. The event will bring 192 of the world's best professional surfers to Lowers, starting on April 24th and running through the 28th.
The field competing for the $75,000 purse is packed with local and international talent including: 2001 ASP World Champion CJ Hobgood (Melbourne Beach, FL) and twin brother Damien (Satellite Beach, FL), both currently ranked 17th on the Foster's ASP World Tour; fellow Tour surfers Dayyan Neve (Manly Beach, AUS) and Gabe Kling (St. Augustine, FL); and local favorites Chris Ward (San Clemente, CA) and Nathan Yeomans (San Clemente, CA). ASP WQS standouts Mike Losness (San Clemente, CA), Shaun Ward (Huntington Beach, CA), Austin Ware (Solano Beach, CA), Ryan Helm (Jupiter, FL) and Anthony Petruso (Malibu, CA) are also confirmed, along with legendary surfer Peter Mel (Santa Cruz, CA).

With a history that began in the late 80s, the Jeep Body Glove Surfbout continues to play a crucial role in the growth of American surfing. Known for its large prize purse, reputable list of competitors and prime location at Lower Trestles, Surfbout continues to be an anchor event for the ASP North America and has become one of the most prestigious events in the mainland U.S.
Regardless of conditions, the horn signaling the start of the Jeep Body Glove Surfbout will sound at 8 am. Tuesday, April 24th. The event will conclude with the Quarters, Semis Finals and Awards Presentation on Saturday, April 28th.
