Chasing The Lotus

Directed by Gregory Schell and produced and scored by Chris Bell, Chasing The Lotus won the Best Original Score award at the 2007 Lat34 X-Dance Action Sports Film Festival.

For forty years, underground filmmakers Greg Weaver and Spyder Wills documented surf discovery as it migrated around the globe, shooting timeless images for such films as The Forgotten Island of Santosha, Big Wednesday, Stylemasters, Pacific Vibrations, and Uluwatu. A cinematic journey inspired by many of the reels that were thought to have been lost forever are now brought back to life in Chasing the Lotus. An in-depth look at the evolution of surf culture and surf discovery. Chasing The Lotus is a fusion of rare super 8mm film, photo stills and contemporary interviews.Narrated by Jeff Bridges and starring some of the most legendary names in surfing.
