Shaun White, Kelly Clark Win Halfpipe at US Open
Mar 18 2007 / Stratton, VT Shaun White showed that he still is the master of the halfpipe by taking the top spot at the 25th annual Burton US Open of Snowboarding in Stratton, VT, on Saturday. He scored a 94.75 on his second run and it was enough to hold up against Danny Davis, who couldn't improve on his 88.00 during his third run when he fell. Markus Malin finished in third with a 79.50.

With the win, Shaun White was named the winner of the men's TTR World Snowboard Tour title as well as the winner of $100,000 from taking the title of the Burton Global Open Series.
For the women, the top three finishers were all past champions. Kelly White made a triumphant return to first place after three years with a 88.75 run. Gretchen Bleiler, the 2005 champ, came in second with an 85.00, followed by defending champ Torah Bright, 84.75. Bright was named the winner of the Burton Global Open series, taking home $100,000, and is also in line to capture the women's TTR World Snowboard Tour title with a good performance next weekend at the Roxy Chicken Jam.
