Sarah Conrad Interview

Jan 29 2007 / LAAX, Switzerland Lat34 caught up with Canadian Sarah Conrad after the competition to give us the walk through of her first run, which landed her a second place finish.

Lat34: Hey Sarah, so it looks like things panned out pretty much the way we expected after the semis, huh?
SC: Yeah, I guess so! I couldn’t be more stoked. It was super good conditions, and the pipe was so fun! I wanna go and ride it now, actually…

Lat34: So can you take us through your run?
SC: It was actually my first run that I scored best on, I had a great time, just went big, and finished off with a couple of spins.

Lat34: Not too spinny though, right?
SC: That’s right, I do a cab 5, and then I do a switch alley-oop 5, and so that’s what got me up there, I guess.

Lat34: So what’s next on your agenda?
SC: Well, I go home, and I get to ride Whistler… and go shopping.

Lat34: So how are you planning on spending that prize money?
SC: Well, I needed a new phone, but I won a Motorola one today, so I guess that’s covered, just hope it works in North America!

Lat34: That Motorola trophy is pretty sweet, huh?
SC: Yeah! I don’t know the story behind it, but it looks really cool. Plus they’re gonna mail it back to us, which is good – it would suck to have to take that back on a plane. I’m going to have to carry half of Crispin’s (Canadian travel buddy and winner of men’s halfpipe) stuff for him anyway…
