Ross Powers has been a legend in his home state of Vermont since he competed in his first US Open, at the age of 9. But he catapulted himself into true legend status when he won the first Olympic bronze medal awarded in halfpipe in ‘98, and then went back four years later to win the gold medal in Salt Lake City in 2002. Nicknamed the Boss, Ross owns a halfpipe title from almost every major competition – The X Games, the US Open and the World Championships, just to name a few.Ross got into snowboarding while his mom worked at the small Vermont resort, Bromley Mountain, and he’s never forgotten where he came from. He is the founder of the Ross Powers Foundation, which helps kids with limited resources snowboard, and funds camps at Stratton Mountain each year. He is also a devoted family man, and brings his wife Marisa and daughter Victoria with him on the road whenever possible.
