Girl On: Tara Dakides Revisited

January '08 itself is going to be big because her new documentary, "Against the Grain," directed by Josh Landan (Flow, Medication) is being featured at the X-Dance action sports film festival. It screens on Sunday, January 20, and is about her life. No punches are held back, as her battles with drugs and suicide attempt are discussed.
Then at the end of the month Dakides will be back in Aspen for the Winter X, something she's been part of since 1998 and where she will be taking part in the slopestyle competition.

Last year also saw the release of Runway films' "La La Land," in which she appeared alongside many of the sport's top names, including Anderson, Leanne Pelosi, Laura Hadar, Victoria Jealouse and many more.
Along with the continuing success of her company O-Matic snowboards, Dakides has a lot to celebrate in 2008
