Hawk's HuckJam is Back

Jul 10 2006 / Los Angeles, CA

Tony Hawk’s Boom Boom HuckJam is back for it’s fourth tour, bringing vert skateboarding, freestyle BMX and freestyle Moto-X to the masses once again. This year’s tour, Tony Hawk’s Project 8 Boom Boom HuckJam, presented by POWERade and Got2B, hits eight different Six Flags amusement parks around the Eastern and Midwestern United States. Tony is joined by tour veterans Sergie Ventura, Dennis McCoy and Drake McElroy, as well as first timers Neal Hendrix, Paul Zitzer, Kevin Staab, Tom Stober, and Andy Jones. Although previous HuckJam tours have focused on large sports arenas around the country, this year’s tour heads outdoors for the first time. Visitors to the parks get in to the shows for free, however, they can purchase additional VIP seating for an added price.

The tour kicked off at Six Flags Great America in Chicago with a packed seating area and thousands in the standing room only crowd. The parks fence off an area of the parking lot for the shows, which feature the Boom Boom HuckJam demo ramp and moto ramps, with huge video screens, choreographed music and the brash hosting talents of show emcee Jason Ellis. There are two shows each day and the tour stops at each of the parks for two days at a time. After Chicago, the tour headed to New England and Buffalo, and continues on the Washington DC/Maryland on July 9-10, Jackson, NJ on July 12-13, Atlanta, GA on July 16-17, San Antonio, TX on July 20-21 and finally ends in Arlington (Dallas), TX on July 23-24.
Sadly, Moto-X rider Jeremy Carter, who was to join the tour in New Jersey, passed away over the 4th of July holiday. Jeremy’s family, which includes his wife and 2-year old child, have stated that information will be forthcoming regarding donations. That information will be posted at the boomboomhuckjam.com website as well as other places once it becomes available. A replacement for Jeremy on the tour has not been announced at this time.

Tickets to Tony Hawk’s Project 8 HuckJam can be purchased online at SixFlags.com/TonyHawk.asp or at individual participating parks. More information available at BoomBoomHuckJam.com.
