Heavy Hitters Line Up For The Red Bull Manny Mania Final Showdown In NYC

Creager, Dompierre to join the likes of Brezinski and Bassett August 12th at Coleman Park under the Manhattan Bridge

Three months of manual throw-downs from coast to coast will culminate on August 12th at the biggest playground of them all – New York, where pros get one last crack at the Red Bull Manny Mania prize. Skateboarding tech masters such as Venice stop winner Joey Brezinski and veteran Ronnie Creager will compete for a $30,000 purse and bragging rights for who is the best at two-wheel trickery.

Taking place underneath the Manhattan Bridge at Coleman Park, Manny Mania will be thumping with New York’s energy and a custom-built manny feature that includes a giant hip and a multi-layered pad. The jam format of the contest allows skaters to session like they would with their friends – no pressure, just fun. This isn’t just another Sunday in the park though – on August 12th skaters have the chance to walk away with a giant payout and a jewel-encrusted pimp cup. The contest will be free to the public, starting at 3pm EST. and will be webcast live at http://mannymania.411vm.com

The contest series kicked off in May in Venice Beach, CA where palm trees and ocean breezes provided the backdrop for the Brezinski, Chico Brenes and Daniel Castillo to take the top three and earn an automatic invite to the battle in the Big Apple.

Across the country, skateboarding’s future got their chance to join in the action, with six amateur stops hitting up skate hotbeds like Tampa, Denver and Austin and giving locals the spotlight to do their best tricks in front of pro judges such as Brezinski and Chris Roberts.

The “Show us Your Manny” contest gives anyone with a camera and a skateboard the chance to upload their video to You Tube in hopes of getting picked for a prize pack including goodies from Cliché, Stereo and Adio. There is still a chance to win, if you have the skills on the wheels (and your buddy can manage to hold the camera steady).
