Big Turnout for 'Young Guns 3' World Premiere
Jul 27 2007 / Huntington Beach, CAIt was a full house for the world premiere screening of 'Young Guns 3' at Quiksilver Headquarters in Huntington Beach, CA on Thursday (July 26) night.
More than 3,000 people turned out to have fun and watch a special screening of the third chapter in the 'Young Guns' series which focuses on up and coming surfers sponsored by Quiksilver.
'Young Guns 3' features surfers Ry Craike, Jeremy Flores, Clay Marzo, Garrett Parkes, Dane Reynolds and Julian Wilson, along with eight-time ASP world champion Kelly Slater.

In addition to the new 'Young Guns' others in attendance included Omar Hassan (Quiksilver Skate Team), Todd Richards (Quiksilver Snowboard Team), Josh Hoyer and Danny Fuller (Quiksilver Surf Team) along with supermodel Tori Praver (and Fuller's girlfriend) and many more.
The back parking lot of the Quiksilver office was set-up with a stage and large screen for the movie and free drinks and food for the public. The crowd encompassed a wide range of people including families with kids, couples and large groups of friends and singles.
Vince Scandone from Fountain Valley brought his wife, daughter and other family friends to see the movie.
“I really enjoyed 'Young Guns 2',” he said, adding “I've been surfing since grade school…for 35 years.” His wife Kelly laughed and added “it's been more than 35 years since Vince has been in grade school.”
In addition to the back parking lot open to the public, there was a VIP area inside the Quiksilver headquarters with a second screen for people in the industry and friends of Quiksilver.
One of the most popular areas was the Quiksilver skate bowl in the back parking lot. There was a constant line all night to get up and watch pros and others skate.
The crowd only calmed down when 'Young Guns 3' started at around 9:15 p.m., as everyone settled in to watch the movie both inside and outside.
Many of the people Lat34 talked to saw the earlier 'Young Guns” films.
Brett Johnson from Long Beach said, “'Young Guns 2' was great” and he was looking forward to seeing the new movie.
If you're a surf fan and like parties you unfortunately missed a great time. This was a free event and open to the public.
The world premiere of 'Young Guns 3' coincides with the U.S. Open of Surfing which takes place through Sunday in Huntington Beach.
