Relive the Action in Paris

Sep 15 2006 / Los Angeles, CA It was in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower that some of the best in action sports came out to compete in the LG Action Sports World Tour's Paris event from Sept. 2-3.  Check out the best of the best with these video clips of some of the winning runs from the competition:

The Germans hit Paris in full strength with Juergen Horrwarth, who topped the Skate Vert comp in the Berlin tour stop, and Tobias Albert, terrorizing the field.  In the end, Albert had the best run, securing an 85.50 in his first run and never looking back, delivering some crazy tricks and flips.  The UK's Chris Oliver was second (79.50), followed by Horrwarth (79.25).

Ten took to the ramp, including Jean Postec, Chris Gentry, Anthony Furlong and Buster Halterman, but in the Mathias Ringstrom stood tall after a run full of enough tricks to make your head spin.  It had McTwists, backside air, kickflip indy and more...    Ringstrom's final score was an 85.50.  Terence Bougdour placed second with the same score (though his second run scored less) and Postec was third with an 85.00.

Dave Dillewaard followed up a win in Berlin with another win in Paris. The giant (sort of a figure of speech, though he is 6'5") scored an 89.50, while second-place finisher Alessandro Barbero, of Italy, pulled an 87.50 to third-place finisher Chris Mahoney (87.00).

Simon Tabron kept his dominance of the LG tour going with another win in Paris.   It was his third win through four stops.  As usual, Tabron pulled out a 900, but he had plenty of other tricks to follow it up with, including a no-handed alley-oop 540.  Tabron's winning run score was 91.25, and he was followed by Zach Shaw (88.75) and Jay Eggleston (88.00).

After falling behind Shane Yost in the last two tour stops, Takeshi Yasutoko found his way back to the top of the leaderboard.   Big air was the key for Yasutoko, who scored a massive 95.00 to Yost's 90.25.  Hometown hero Taïg Khris was third with an 89.50.

Florida native Fallon Heffernan pulled the win in Paris by scoring a 75.50.  It wasn't a big surprise -- she's won each of the tour stops thus far on the tour.  But when she popped her shoulder out of the socket twice before the comp, it didn't seem too likely another win was secure.  But she came back after a slower first run with a strong one that took out the field.
