X-Dance Screening Series Flyer
Published: 2:37 p.m. PT by Greg

So we may be a little biased since we're involved in it, but we also like the movies. Next week you will be able to catch a free screening of "Chasing the Lotus" in LA -- it's a great documentary about underground surf filmmakers Greg Weaver and Spyder Wills and features a ton of their footage. And if you get to show up, you will see Weaver in person and be able to ask him any question you'd like. That's pretty cool...

James Stewart Gets USA Today Coverage

Although people give him more than the usual coverage for being a dominant supercross and motocross because he's African-American, James Stewart is the real deal. He's won 12 out of 15 supercross events this year, and is now shifting gears to the motocross scene.

He's drawing comparisons to Tiger Woods. Only he's way more dominant than Tiger.

Q: Where are most of the world's top bowl skaters going to be on Saturday, May 12?

Look Ma! It's a SnowSkateBoard
Published: 7:02 p.m. PT by Me

I don't think this is the first time this has ever been invented or attempted, but it's funny nonethless. A high school student in the UK has invented the "multi-use extreme sports board" and won a little contest as a result. The 17-year-old took home £75 (that's about $150 to you and me) and probably a certificate.

The board can be used for either snowboarding or skateboarding thanks to the use of several attachments. However, since the guy has never snowboarded, I sort of question how well it may work on the slopes.

Mas, por favor.

X-Games Sked Announced

Yeah, yeah, yeah -- we know this has been out for a little while. So sue us.

Anyway, the X-Games has announced its full schedule (which is subject to change, of course) for this summer (Aug. 2-5) in LA (never mind the fact that more than half of it takes place in Carson about 15 miles away from LA).

So much for our dislike of parentheses.

Here's what you need to know: Skateboard Big Air, the coolest event, is on Aug. 2. Skatebopard Vert finals, which is expected to feature Shaun White doing 65 attempts at a 1080.

Tony Hawk, Guitars and War Save Activision
Published: 2:42 p.m. PT by Me

Maybe video game maker Activision didn't quite need to be saved, but the company is expected to post record-breaking revenue numbers of approximately $1.51 billion for the latest fiscal year, thanks to strong holiday sales of titles like Guitar Hero II, Call of Duty 3, and Tony Hawk's Project 8. On top of that, the company is expected to do more than $300 million in business in the first quarter of 2007 -- more than $100 million than the company itself expected.

The company still has some issues with stock back-dating (ahem, can you say $67 million issues?) and some reports to turn in to NASDAQ so it doesn't get delisted, but it looks as though those issues will be worked out...

Everest Climber to be Buried Nine Years After Left to Die
Published: 1:02 a.m. PT by Me

The story isn't as harsh as the title sounds: The climber had to be left, or the entire group would have likely died. The problem, though (besides the climber dying), is that the climber who was left for dead stayed in that position for nine years. Now, one of the climbers who was forced to leave her is heading back to bury her.

Talk about extreme.
