Did you know Travis Pastrana was paralyzed for a few weeks in a FMX accident when he was 16. After recovering he went on to compete in the X Games that same year. Skater Danny Way and freeskier CR Johnson were also paralyzed in action sports accidents, but recovered. These were the lucky few. • This Southern California native was a competitive surfer on his way to a professional career when he broke his neck jumping off a wave at 17-years-old. Now he is a speaker for Life Rolls On and works to get kids who have suffered from neck injuries out in the water surfing.

In 1997 pro snowboarder Trevor Snowden overshot a landing on a big air jump at Snoqualmie Pass during a contest. The result was that he was paralyzed from the waste down. Since then Trevor has gone on to become a professional downhill mountain wheelchair biker.
