In the past two years, Jason Bergh has emerged as one of the hottest independent producer-directors on the West Coast. Bergh learned the ropes working along-side his award winning Director of Photography father, Jeb Bergh and currently works with some of today’s most influential and powerful stars in the action sports and music industry.  In the past year, Bergh has directed over 50 artists including Gwen Stefani, the Wallflowers, Pharrell and Nelly Furtado.Jason Bergh 320x240
 
Bergh heads up UX Entertainment Group and runs Berkela Films with his partner Sal Masekela, host of the ESPN X Games. Under UX Entertainment, Bergh directs and produces live broadcast shows, multi-camera concerts, documentaries and multimedia productions. Bergh’s most recent undertaking, Berkela Films, has launched with the acquistion and debut of “Disposable Hero: the Brian Deegan Story.” This action sports documentary about the legendary freestyle motocross legend, Brian Deegan, premieres at X-Dance Festival in January 2007.   For more info check out www.uxentertainment.com

Lat34: Are you excited for 2007?  

JB: Berkela Films is my excitement for the new year. Sal Masekela and I, after 8 years of working together launched this new venture that will allow us to provide distribution, financing, and full service marketing for all our projects as well as other filmmakers projects.   Its something we have been talking about for a long time and its amazing how it has worked out.  Berkela is my inspiration for 2007. 

 

Lat34: What’s one thing people should know about life?

JB: This quote is unknown to me but came just at the right time: "If you can chase excellence instead of money, the money will follow once excellence is found. But if you reverse that and chase money, you will more than likely never find excellence."
