Aug. 3 2007 / Los AngelesWhat makes a slam memorable? It's more than just what happens -- it's what it means. See our five choices, then be sure to see the video at the end... (Click here to check out the Biggest Tricks)
1. Jake Brown Crashes in Skate Big Air Finals -- 2007
Big Air is dangerous -- no doubt about it -- and only two days after a BMX rider broke his collarbone during practice, skateboarder Jake Brown had a huge slam in the Skate Big Air finals on his last run. What the video clip won't show is Jake getting up and waving to the crowd, but for everyone in attendance, it was a shocking moment that won't soon be forgotten.

2. Scott Murray Tries a Double Back Flip -- 2007
After Travis Pastrana landed the double back flip, people thought it might be years before someone else even tried it. Well, one year later, Scott Murray came in with a couple of landings under his belt (none in competition). So when he took off, people were standing and cheering -- but he couldn't pull it out. While the slam may not be that spectacular, when you add it to the difficulty, it's amazing he wasn't badly injured.

3. Travis Pastrana Loses a Wheel -- 2005
In his own words: "I was upside-down in the air and the bars, they kind of felt a little odd ... When I landed I was starting to fall -- I overrotated a little bit -- and all of a sudden I'm falling forward. I didn't fully grasp what was going on until I was on the ground and the fork jammed me in the leg ... I'm laying on the ground, still with the bars in my hands going 'I have the bars, I have my feet on the footpegs. How am I laying on the ground?'"

4. Remi Bizouard Hart Attack -- 2006
Remi isn't the best known rider, but he's still fun to watch. This happened last year and looks a bit worse than it ended up being. When you're looking at FMX, you can find examples across-the-board of chilling crashes.

5. Vanessa Torres Street Slam -- 2005
Vanessa Torres has been one of the top women street skaters for the last six years, with one gold and one silver medal at X Games. After this slam during the 2005 Street finals, she couldn't make it to the top five, ending up in sixth place. She is now back to form and challenging the field in '07.
