Burton North American Amateur Series 2008 Dates: 1/26 - 1/27 Location: Big Bear Lake, CA Official Site: http://www.burton.com/amseries Sport: Snowboarding Details: The 2008 Burton AM Series is a regional amateur snowboarding competition series that will hit 6 resorts across the United States this winter season. The events are open for all amateur competitors and will feature mens and womens slopestyle and halfpipe competitions. Mens and Womens first place winners in each discipline will receive a wildcard entry into the US Open Snowboarding Championships at Stratton, VT in March 2008. This event series gives amateur riders from all regions in the US a chance to guarantee a spot into the US Open by winning a contest on their home mountain. Burton AM Series events are open to all competitors regardless of age or gender. Registration is handled on a first come first serve basis. All competitors must complete a waiver and bring it with them to on-site registration on the day of competition. The grand prize for each discipline in both men's and women's competition is a wildcard spot directly into the 2008 US Open held in Stratton, VT in March 2008. Winners will receive an entry directly into pre-qualifiers for the discipline which they finished first in.
