Aspen's Winternational 2007 Dates: 12/7 - 12/9 Location:Aspen, CO Official Site: http://www.aspensnowmass.com/travelinfo/events/detail.cfm?&eventID=4 Sport: Skiing Details: Aspen's passion for World Cup is deeply rooted in our community. The Aspen Winternational tradition continues December 7-9, 2007, when the world's best racers will descend on Aspen for a weekend of nonstop action and entertainment - Aspen Winternational Audi FIS Women's Ski World Cup. The fastest women in the world will compete for three days in the disciplines of Super G, Slalom and Downhill. That's right, Aspen is celebrating the return of America's Downhill - the first time women's downhill has been in Aspen since 1988! We hope you can all make it out to see some American favorites as Olympic Gold Medalist Julia Mancuso as well as others including Lindsay Vonn, Resi Steigler, Caroline Lalive, Kaylin Richardson and Stacey Cook. Downhill race - Friday at 11am. Super G - Saturday at 11am. Slalom races - Sunday at 10am and 1pm. Also be sure and check out the Gondola Plaza Friday and Saturday from 2-4:30pm where the U.S. Ski team will be signing autographs each day from 3-4pm. The Gondola Plaza will also include a bouncy house, games, food and a beer garden! The weekend includes a FREE Bud Light Hi Fi concert featuring Blues Traveler on Saturday at 6:30pm. Don't miss the awards and bib draw before on the concert stage before the show - fireworks immediately following the concert! Its all happening at the base of Aspen Mountain.
