The Sean Slater Invitational Dates: 11/9 - 11/11 Location: Cocoa Beach, FL Official Site: Sport: Surfing Details: Eight-time world champion Kelly Slater returns to his home beach Nov. 9-11, when the second annual Sean Slater Invitational takes place behind Cocoa Beach's Holiday Inn. Slater's return also marks the return of Marshall Alberga, who, as an 18-year-old, shocked the surfing community by defeating Slater and veteran touring pro Shea Lopez in last year's final -- after winning an AAU qualifier the previous week. The event, part of the Bright House Networks Fall Classic presented by Ron Jon surf shop, benefits the World Skin Cancer Foundation, which was spearheaded by event organizer Drew Filliben 2 1/2 years ago.
