Wake up sleepy heads. It’s time. While you’re sitting in front of your computer in the comfort of your own home, or more likely, the discomfort of your day job, one of the biggest contests in the world is getting ready for its grand finale. The Dew Action Sports Tour Playstation Pro is about to light up Orlando and smoke it like a cheap cigar: fast and hard.

The Dew Tour contenders have been battling it out, beating each other up, breaking bones and nursing concussions all summer long. But, now it’s time for them to really throw all inhibitions to the wind and ride balls out for the Dew Cup and the biggest prize purse in action sports: $3.5 million.

Skater Gator Bowl

In the Skate Park contest, the young guns still rule. 16 year-old Ryan Sheckler and 21 year-old Jereme Rogers have a strangle hold on the top two spots. If Sheckler can hold on to his lead in overall points he’ll be the Park winner for the 2nd year in a row. And little Nyjah Huston, who was a no-show at the last stop in San Jose, is in 3rd overall. Rodolfo Ramos trails the 11 year-old wonder by only a few points. If Huston shows up in Orlando Ramos will have his work cut out for him. (Skate Park Preview. Watch Clip>)

Ryan Sheckler

Bucky Lasek, who won the Dew Cup in Skate Vert last year and is fresh from a 1st place finish at the last stop in San Jose, is 1st in the overall points standings. Sandro Dias is the only man remotely close enough in points to nab the Dew Cup from Lasek. The ever-smiling Dias started the season slowly with a 19th place finish at the first Dew Tour stop in Louisville, but quickly turned it around with 1st and 2nd place finishes at the last three Dew Tour stops and a win at X Games. Bob Burnquist has had a rollercoaster season starting off with a 1st place finish in Louisville followed by a 12th place finish in Denver, 11th in Portland, and 3rd in San Jose. He’s back on his game, but will it be enough to take Dias down? (Skate Vert Preview. Watch Clip>)

FMX Florida Finale

The face of FMX is changing quickly. The legendary Travis Pastrana is phasing out of FMX in favor of Rally Car racing. But never fear, Nate Adams is right there to pick up where Pastrana left off. Adams, who holds a commanding lead in overall points for 1st place this season, is undoubtedly the next invincible totem in FMX. But, like King Kong on the Empire State Building, Adams is already swatting off attacks from the likes of Mike Mason (currently 3rd in overall points), Jeremy Lusk (4th in overall points), Jim McNeil (5th in overall points), and Robbie Maddison (6th in overall points). The real battle in Orlando will be among these four men for 3rd.  (FMX Preview. Watch Clip>)

Big BMX Bout

It’s safe to say that BMX has stolen the show at this year’s Dew Action Sports Tour. And none more than Jamie Bestwick, winner of last year’s Dew Cup in Vert and this year’s overall points leader. Unless a tsunami descends upon the ramp while he’s riding in Orlando (and even then I think the tsunami would suffer worse) the unstoppable Bestwick looks like he could take home his 2nd Dew Cup, and set a record for the most amount of points earned in a season (Ryan Sheckler set the record last year with 438). Bestwick currently has 375 points. A 1st place finish in Orlando would bump him up to 475. Only Chad Kagy, Kevin Robinson and Simon Tabron have come close to dethroning the dominating Brit. They’ll have one more chance in Orlando.

BMX Park has been a bloody battle all summer long between Scotty Cranmer, Daniel Dhers and Ryan Nyquist. Each have placed 1st at a Dew Tour stop only to get knocked down at the next event. As a result, only 14 points separate the top three spots. And you know what that means. It’s going to get ugly. BMX Park could end up being the most exciting event in Orlando. ( BMX Park Preview. We also have a super close points race in BMX Dirt. Luke Parlsow (aka Mr. Consistency), Anthony Napolitan (aka Golden Boy) and Ryan Nyquist (aka Mr. I Don’t Need An ACL To Win) will all be vying for the top spot this week in Orlando. And while Park could be the most exciting contest, Dirt will be the most difficult to predict to outcome of. Parlsow and Napolitan are neck and neck for 1st. But, you can’t rule out Nyquist. Cameron White is uncomfortably close to 3rd and wields a powerful triple tailwhip in his bag of tricks. And Ryan Guettler, last year’s Dirt and Park winner, is smoking hot after an unbelievably solid run that landed him a 1st place finish in San Jose. (BMX Dirt Preview. Watch Clip>)

Finally, those of you lucky enough to be at the Dew Tour grand finale in Orlando will get amped up by a special performance from hip hop mainstay Ludacris. See the full story here.
