The top three spots in Thursday’s Dirt Prelims in
Cameron White came into Thursday’s Dirt Prelims fresh from winning the BMX Dirt Finals at the Vans Invitational in
SL: Did you surprise yourself with your win in
CW: Yeah, I guess. I didn’t really go out to win. I just went out to do that run. It’s been bugging me since X Games. And I’m stoked that I pulled it off. So, surprised? Yeah, because that’s the first big contest I’ve ever really won.
SL: Was
CW: Yeah, definitely. Because my mom and dad were there from Australia . So, to have them see that contest where I pulled the run that I wanted was great.

SL: How’re you feeling in
CW: Pretty good. Pretty good. I didn’t crash in Prelims, so I’m pretty happy with that.
SL: How is the course here in
CW: Love it. Absolutely love it. It brings out a lot of different stuff. It’s not just three straight jumps in a row. And I like [the
SL: Overall, what do you think your strengths and weaknesses are?
CW: I just try to go out there and have fun. I don’t think about it much. In competitions, if I do the run I want to do then I’m happy. It doesn’t really matter if I come first or last. And weaknesses? Well, I eat junk food… a lot. So, uh, that’s my only one!
SL: What’s your goal for the rest of this season?
CW: Stay on my bike and have fun.
