Prelim Results -- check back Sunday for the finals!
PLG Tops Skate Prelims in SLC; White Fifth
The Skate Vert prelims at the Toyota Challenge, the fourth stop of the AST Dew Tour, went down this afternoon with a slight surprise. Shaun White, who has been so dominant so far this season on the Dew Tour, qualifying in fifth place, while Pierre-Luc Gagnon took the top spot. Buster Halterman was second followed by Andy Macdonald.
Among the familiar faces to miss making the finals were young sensation Alex Perelson, Sandro Dias, Danny Mayer and Mathias Ringstrom.
White has either qualified in first or second in each of the first three events of this season's Dew Tour and the placement does add some pressure to deliver on his runs since both Bucky Lasek and PLG will get a final run after his. The skate vert finals will take place Sunday afternoon.
More results coming soon. Meanwhile, here are the full results from Prelims (top 10 make the cut):Skate Vert Prelims - Toyota Challenge
