The VolComics Art Show is the brainchild of Ethan Anderson, Vice President Creative Director at Volcom. “I have always loved comics,” says Anderson, “As a kid I read Zap comics my dad had. I worked my way through mainstream comics like Marvel, X-Men but I always went back to underground comics.”
Volcom has had an ongoing series of shirts that features artwork from a wide range of artists. Anderson wanted to use comic art on a series of shirts and decided to publish VolComics Volume #1 as a companion that would add value to the shirts.
