DC Signs Daniel Dhers To BMX Team

Mar 25 2008 / Vista, CA

DC is proud to announce today that it has brought on 22-year-old Daniel Dhers as the newest addition to its professional BMX Team.  Daniel is the first BMX rider to be added to DC's roster in more than two years. With a long list of accomplishments including medals in some of the most prestigious BMX competitions, Daniel makes the perfect addition to DC's BMX Team.

"The dynamic that Daniel's aggressive style will bring to our team will only enhance our already amazing roster and continue to make DC a driving force in BMX," said Ken Block, DC Co-Founder/Chief Brand Officer.

Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Daniel learned to ride at age 13 when he and his friends would cruise around town in their free time. His riding was influenced by watching those he admired in the BMX industry including Jamie Bestwick and fellow DC teammate Dave Mirra. Daniel's skills and style developed further when he began taking tricks that were progressive on a vert ramp and adapting them to a park format, causing the industry and fellow riders to take notice. Daniel, who never thought his passion for riding would become anything other than a hobby, turned pro in 2004.

"Being on DC is a crazy experience. I'm good friends with everyone on the team and I'm so excited and happy to have the opportunity to ride for a brand that I really believe in," said Daniel. "I look forward to the opportunity to do some great things together in the future."

In the few years that Daniel has been pro, he has competed in more than 30 competitions, making a name for himself along the way. His attention to detail and consistent execution of every trick he attempts makes him a force to be reckoned with during competition. One of Daniel's biggest professional accomplishment to date was taking 1st place overall at the annual Dew Tour in 2007. Daniel's earned two X Games medals - a gold medal in Park from the 2007 X Games 13 and a bronze medal in Park from the 2006 X Games 12.
