If you ask the majority of Americans, they might tell you that baseball is America’s past time. Older generations might say fishing or SHOOTING GUNS but none of these activities really are. America’s past time has been and will always be making prank calls. Baseball believe it or not is an expensive sport. It’s meant more for the middle and upper classes of society thus leaving out the poor. Fishing is not really accessible for everyone and shooting guns is fun, although it is quite accident-prone and all it takes is one MISTAKE. On the other hand, prank calls require only a few things: A phone, a free phonebook, and a vocal prowess to replicate funny voices.
When my friends and I were younger, we would prank call all of our skateboard heroes. Daewon Song, Josh Beagle, Willy Santos. Back in the day, it was as simple as opening the phone book, searching their last names in the white pages, and calling them up. And to our surprise, these guys would actually talk to us for several minutes. I remember we spoke to Ron Creager for at least one hour. Another time, the son of the owner of Blast Skate Shop spoke to us for a long time after we were talking about his mom. Skaters are so cool.
