Building homemade skateparks was me and my friend’s specialty. It didn’t ever take more than a few pipes, some plywood stolen off the streets, a few nails, and fire to make something spectacular. We could make anything from the standard 4 foot quarter pipe, to the basic platform with a buttery LEDGE. That was all until the friend down the street decided after everything was built, to come down and skate with us. And in one sweeping motion like a tornado, everything was demolished thanks to him. That is why in this day in age where friends are out to destroy what you build, you must make it indestructible. Not everyone has a HANDYMAN to their disposal. At least we have Jimmy Cao to make things happen.
While building a cinder block ledge isn’t a true Trick Tip as they typically show on CCS TV, it is a very helpful tutorial to help you build your own spot that will help you and your crew learn tricks ad infinitum. With that being said, Sk8Mafia pro and master foreman Jimmy Cao is featured along with Sk8mafiosos Marshall Heath, Kellen James and Nick Lamm in this hands on instructional video on ledge building and skating. If you’ve got an open concrete surface in your town there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t be building one of these for you and your crew.
