Watching the Super Bowl is good for two things and two things only.  One is the free food you get to eat by attending your friend’s PARTY who supplies most of the grub and cold frosty brews.  The other great thing about the Super Bowl are the commercials that companies spend millions of dollars on just for a tiny 30 second to one minute spot.  Granted most of the advertisements aren’t even really that good, yet they do enough to grab the attention of what I like to call the “lowest common denominator.”

For instance, Danica Patrick’s crappy commercial was so effective, Go Daddy saw record numbers for new website registrations the following day and all it took was a few seconds of Danica in a bathing suit.  But there were a few commercials that I found effective and done aesthetically quite well.  One of the ads that got a lot of attention was the Doritos DOG that bribed a witness to a cat disappearance.  It was simple and clever to see a cute dog bribing a man with food.  But the biggest surprise was that it was done for only $20 through a commercial competition Doritos ran on its website.

Another effective ad that made some of us in the OFFICE go nuts was the H&M DAVID BECKHAM underwear commercial.  I thought it was good, not because I’m a fan of David, but because those Target T-BACKS by Shaun White are damn uncomfortable.

But none of these commercials can touch the awesomeness of DC’s latest Chris Cole commercial featuring the Lite S.  It’s called “Rediscover Technology” and it simply the bomb.
