Yeaaah this is great. Watching this video helps me reminisce of the days I used to live out of my car. Not because I was trying to skate each spot and maximize my time there, but because I just didn’t have a warm place to sleep. Those are the heyday of the ultimate RAVE scene of over a decade ago. My friend from NO AGE would allow me to sleep on their dirty rotten carpet, but whenever I would arrive late to their place, instead of awakening them, I would sleep in the car. Sometimes I would wake up and see my breath because it was so cold. I’m glad I don’t have to do that again. Now I’ve got my own KINGDOM.
Of course Malto doesn’t have to live out of his car with the countless sponsorships and endless prize money he earns from skating contests. But it looks like while there in Austin, Texas, instead of wasting money on a MOTEL, why not just save the cash and sleep in your car? I mean, sure he might smell like funk after skating all day, but he’s young. You’ve got to admire this kid’s ability to stay down to earth despite all the success. Same with Chaz. But I don’t know where he’s going. It looks like he’s going into a bar or something. Maybe he has a FAKE ID?
The sun may have set, but that doesn’t stop Chaz and Malto from cruising spot to spot and skating well into the night. With headlights and a generator, the guys are set to skate from dusk ‘til dawn, or whenever they want to call it a day. Soundtrack features the song “I Believe in Your Victory” by This Will Destroy You.
The third and final video in Chaz Ortiz and Sean Malto’s Gatorade series, entitled “Night and (Go All) Day: Well Past Midnight”, just went live and follows the guys as they skate Austin, Texas at night.
