This young lady is a hero to anyone who hears her story and is inspired by her willingness to continue doing what she loves most, which is surfing. Based on the true story of Bethany Hamilton, a 13-year-old competitive surfer with big dreams and a courageous spirit. Bethany comes from a family of surfers, riding the waves is all Bethany can dream about. But her dreams turn into a nightmare after a sudden shark attack takes her left arm and her hopes of ever surfing again.

Soul Surfer is an inspirational film for the entire family about overcoming obstacles and turning tragedy into triumph.  The movie was filmed entirely in Hawaii, and it offers some gorgeous cinematography and wonderful surf-action shots and features an all-star cast including Helen Hunt, Denis Quaid, Craig T Nelson and AnnaSophia Robb as Bethany, the teen titan with a heart of gold.

Coinciding with her new feature film Soul Surfer, Bethany Hamilton will be making a guest appearance tonight on The Daily Habit airing Wednesday, April 6 at 11:00 pm ET/PT and telecast several additional times, tonight the Habit.

The Habit will also welcome Paz Vega, the wonderful Spanish actress from “Cat Run.” Paz is joined by actor Blake Anderson from Comedy Central’s new show “Workaholics” and special correspondent, Alison Becker. The panel discusses a virtual iPhone girlfriend, pole dancing for Jesus and we sit down with James Franco and Danny McBride from “Your Highness.” Plus, rapper Big Sean lights up the Stride Sound Stage with a performance of his hit single, “My Last.”
