I told you Mike V. is everywhere.  As mentioned above MIKE VALLELY along with his very productive lifestyle is also a musician.  Mike V put together a brand new band (not sure what happened to the last) called Mike Vallely.  They will be debuting “By The Sword” this Friday night February, 12 at 2HeadedHorse. Coming from Los Angeles, one must be proud to see a little diversity coming to the Echo Park area.  Just 10 years ago, the only show you can see at any venue would be the CHOLO FILM FEST where you could cholos as far as the eye can see.  Now all sorts of hessian and indie bands frequent the area.

The best thing about their debut is that they will be playing a Black Flag tribute set including such Flag classics as: Nervous Breakdown, I’ve Had It, Jealous Again, Six Pack, My War and others.  If you’re a punk rock fan, especially a HENRY ROLLINS fan, you will enjoy this show.  I used to love Punk and really loved Black Flag.  Then I realized I wasn’t as angry as I was supposed to be.  That’s why I began to listen to RAGE.

The night will be complimented with art by JRF and DJ sets by Shepard Fairey. The show is all-ages, (21 and over [with ID] to drink) and will cost you $5 at the door.

If the flyer above looks familiar to any Black Flag albums your brother bought back in the 80,s that’s because the flyer is inspired by the art of Ray Pettibon – the artist who did all the original Black Flag flyers and album covers in the early 80’s. Pettibon is a legend.
