Willy’s Workshop X Pat & Oscars For The Mira Mesa Skatepark

For those of us in the FIL-AM community, we know what it feels like to work together at a grassroots level to achieve our goals.  We learned a lot from our parents’ work ethic through their struggle to make it here in the United States.  So whenever we want something, we go get it.  Whenever there’s a big Laker game and the church schedule conflicts with the tip-off, we attend Saturday mass with our game buddies.  Whenever there’s not enough LECHON to go around at a big family function, we work together to catch and slaughter another delicious, succulent, pig so that not only is there enough to go around, there’s enough pig for everyone to take home in a doggy bag.  And when we’re at Vegas playing poker down to our last chip, our friends pull together enough cash from the ATM until we make our money back and then some.  You just can’t keep us down especially when we work together. 

Willy Manaloto Santos knows exactly what I’m talking about because as you may know from his early Birdhouse days, Willy too is a hard worker.  He’s not the type who goes out there adding to an empire built around his name, he’s got a much more SIMPLER life.  But he does look out for his community and the youth who are apart of it by getting for them everything he possibly can. 

His next project is the Mira Mesa Skatepark and anyone who’s tried to put one together knows that with zoning laws, permits, insurance, and of course money, it’s no easy task.  But Willy and the Mira Mesa community took it upon themselves to make this happen.  And with the help of Pat & Oscars, they should be able to get an extra boost towards their cause.
