There has been so much political change in the atmosphere lately that I feel the world’s power is shifting from what used to be a United State dominated world order. We used to be the Disney Land of theme parks but now looks like SANTA’S VILLAGE.How depressing. But at least one of my favorite countries in the world is getting a good amount of attention.Brazil.You probably don’t know this about me but I love the UFC.Like I really love it.I love it just as much as Brian loves DANIEL DICRISCIO.Two of the champion belts are held by Brazilians.Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida.Another thing Brazilians have for them are the girls. They’re so lucky that their girls have Brazilian Waxes.I’ve always wanted one myself. And finally, Rio de Janeiro were granted the 2016 Olympics. We were all hoping that FONTANA, CA would land the deal but they came that close.

It looks like DC SHOES is recognizing the success of the Brazilians. Due to the great success of the DC King Of Series this year DC is proud to announce it has added another location to the 2009 DC King Of Series – São Paulo, Brazil. Fifty of the best regional amateur skaters from South America have been invited to compete for the DC King Of São Paulo this weekend, December 5 – 6th.

“DC is excited to continue the DC King Of Series and give local skaters the opportunity to showcase their talents,” said DC’s Vice President of Marketing Kelly Magrath.

This is the second time that the DC King Of Series visits São Paulo. Chosen for its vibrant and growing skate scene the city of São Paulo offers great skating locations and architecture. Skateboarders from the DC Latin American Skate team will be on hand to help judge the competition that will be held at two of the most famous street skating spots in São Paulo, Praça Roosevelt and Praça Azul.

Now in its fourth year, the DC King of Series continues to tour infamous street spots worldwide. This one-of-a-kind contest travels to local skate spots in cities across the globe, welcoming the city’s best-unsponsored skateboarders to compete in a jam format contest.

The inaugural contest launched in 2006, culminating at Manhattan’s legendary Brooklyn Banks. Since then the DC King Of Series has called on undiscovered skateboarders from all over the world to battle for each city’s coveted title. In 2007, the DC King Of Series traveled to the west coast for DC King of Los Angeles, and later that year went worldwide with the DC King of Barcelona. In 2008, the DC King Of São Paulo was held followed by DC King Of Los Angeles II, each crowning its own King.

This year the DC King Of Series has continued to grow, with new DC Kings being crowned in different cities worldwide including Dublin, Ireland, Vancouver, Canada, and Chicago, Illinois.
