Again you have to attribute technology, or what ALI G likes to call it, “techmology” to these wonderful advancements giving us endless hours of entertainment.  I can literally spend hours upon hours on my computer.  One time I was on my computer playing MINESWEEPER for over 12 hours straight trying to get that damn hard level completed without blowing myself up.  Fast forward a year later, you can now watch entire events on the computer.  Live!  Just this past week I spent the evening with ALICIA KEYES as she performed live on Youtube.  It was so awesome.  I didn’t think she was going to play “Cruis’N 4 Boyz” but she did.

If you’re into this sort of entertainment, you may want to check out the 2009 Tampa Am this December 6th on Fuel TV.  Most of you won’t be able to make it since Miley Cyrus is doing her live broadcast this weekend on Youtube, but don’t worry because the HD webcast will look as if you were there right front and center watching the event.  Check out the press release below for more on the live webcast.

LOS ANGELES, CA – FUEL TV, the only network dedicated to the lifestyle of action sports, will be hosting the live HD webcast from the final day of the 2009 Tampa Am on December 6, 2009. The webcast will run from 12:00pm ET to 6:30pm ET on FUEL TV’s web site www.fuel.tv. FUEL TV will feature the Am Semi-Finals, Am Finals, Best Trick Final and awards. The contest will also be recorded by FUEL TV’s production team and edited into a half-hour highlight show that will air on FUEL TV early in 2010.  This is the second event of a multi-year partnership between Skatepark of Tampa and FUEL TV. FUEL TV presented the 2009 Tampa Pro as its first ever HD webcast back in March.

For the 16th year in a row, the Tampa Am takes place at Skatepark of Tampa in Tampa, Florida. The Tampa Am is considered to be the top amateur skateboard competition in the world. The contest has exposed some of the biggest names in amateur skateboarding, including Kevin “Spanky” Long, Caswell Berry and Nyjah Huston.

“This is the second contest in a row that FUEL TV will be offering an HD webcast from Skatepark of Tampa – covering the Tampa Pro and for the first time the Tampa Am – and we’re excited to be working with the Skatepark of Tampa team to share this incredible contest with a worldwide audience,” says Gene Pao, FUEL TV Vice President of New Media and International Development. “Over the last year, we’ve produced a number of webcasts and are excited to keep making them better for our audience. The quality is the best that can be offered at this time. We bring our television experience to the production, and when you watch this HD webcast, it’s as if you’re watching a live HD television show.  In fact, we want viewers to connect their computers to their wide screen HDTV monitors and compare the video quality to their television HD channels. We think the viewing experience is the same!”

“Skatepark of Tampa enjoyed working with FUEL TV for the Tampa Pro webcast earlier this year,” says Ryan Clements, Skatepark of Tampa’s GM. “In addition to producing the webcast, FUEL TV has also been producing television shows from both our contests for several years, and has become a very important media partner for us. We’re excited to continue working with FUEL TV to have our contests reach an incredible international audience through the webcasts and broadcasts of the Tampa Am and Tampa Pro.”

The webcast will be hosted by announcers Brian Schaefer, Ryan Clements and Vern Laird, with pro skater Neal Hendrix and industry vet Erica Yary reporting from the sidelines.
