The DC Social Networking Site

Dang it! I knew it! Just when I started my FRIENDSTER site, a new social network pops up. Everyone around the world including friends from Guam, Canada, Peru, the Philippines, and Oklahoma all told me that Friendster was the place to be when it came to social networks. There was a huge following of people going to Myspace and I was told that the newly Fox acquired site for half a billion dollars would soon be passé. Then comes along Facebook, which was also acquired but for $10 billion. And because of the amount of money spent on these sites, they’re bound for failure because there’s no way they can make that kind of money. So I stayed with cute little Friendster.
Now here comes a site that really skews a good audience. And this comes right after I just added my 100th friend. I hope that this DC Social Networking site stays forever because I don’t know how my friends will feel if I continue to drop them off my friends list.
November 19, 2009 – Vista, CA – DC’s first ever interactive community website exclusively for snowboarders is now live at http://www.dcshoes.com/community and DC wants to know, “Are you in yet?” This user content driven social community was created to give snowboarders and fans of DC a chance to connect with each other and the DC snow team and features exclusive content that won’t be found anywhere else.
Joining is simple – visit the website, sign-up, create a profile, and go. The first thing users will want to check out is the video and photo blog for updates from their favorite DC riders, who are currently out on the road for the DC “Ride Along Tour” around the US and Canada. The tour, which began last weekend and wraps up in mid-December, gives everyone on the hill a chance to come out and ride with the team. Look for riders Devun Walsh, Iikka Backstrom, Lauri Heiskari, Aaron Biittner, Torstein Horgmo, Kimmy Fasani, Raewyn Reid, Lonnie Kauk and more on the slopes.
There are endless opportunities for users to post content on the new site. From uploading videos and photos of their latest trip to the mountain, to creating topics on a message board, the community website is a great way for people to get involved and stay connected. Have a question for a Pro? Need advice on which DC boots or outerwear to buy this season? Head to the message boards and ask away! Users can also check out the Snow Report tool for useful information about current snow conditions, weather forecasts, and lift openings at their favorite mountains.
Visit the DC Community website today, get involved, and check back often for new features and exclusive content. For more information on the DC Snow Team, DC’s 2010 Snowboarding Collection, and the DC “Ride Along Tour” visit http://www.dcshoes.com/snow.
