NIXON x PRIMITIVE RUBBER PLAYER
November 10, 2009 – 9:59 pm PT by BrianTags: A Million to Juan, George Lopez, Nixon, P-Rod, Paul Rodriguez, Primative —
When ever Mike and I talk about P-Rod we always bring up his dad, actor/comedian Paul Rodriguez. With Paul Sr. the subject of his film “A Million to Juan” comes up. People probably think that we constantly bring up this movie because Paul plays the stereotypical “Mexican- orange seller” and we think it is hilarious to make fun of Mexicans; this is not true. In fact Mike and I watched “A Million to Juan” many time in our teenage years and kind of liked the film, it’s heartwarming to see a dad struggle to help his son and brothers get by.
Paul Rodriguez seems like he is a pretty nice guy and he is SUPER funny in Cheech Marin’s “Born in East LA” as his non English speaking cousin. Even with the RUMORS (I capitalized the word rumors and letting you all that these are just rumors) that were was some bad blood between Paul Sr and George Lopez after the Latin Kings of Comedy tour because Paul felt that George was upstaging him in his own show. I like Paul Rodriguez.
I also like P-Rod too, the guy is one of the most exciting and amazing skaters in the sport today. The guy has also parlayed his talent into the business world by many endorsement deals and his own skate shop, Primitive. One of P-Rods endorsements is with Nixon watches, Nixon and Primitive have done a line of watches with a limited edition colorway designed by P-Rod himself. For more info on the release, keep reading:
Nixon and Paul Rodriquez have collaborated on two limited edition Rubber Players to be sold at the Encino, California location of Primitive, a sneaker boutique that Paul is co-founder of.
The Nixon x Primitive Rubber Player is available in two colorways, purple and black. The purple colorway is reflective of Paul’s hometown pride for the LA Lakers while the black colorway is drawn from Primitive’s signature color.
The Rubber Player is not only one of Paul’s favorite watches, but it is also a watch model that seamlessly mixes the high style of a premium product with technical attention to detail that Nixon is known for.
The Nixon x Primitive Rubber Player features a 3-hand Japanese Quartz movement, a silicon band, custom-engraved caseback and an amethyst or aquamarine stone and Primitive wordmark at the 6 o’clock position. The Nixon x Primitive Rubber player is available in either purple or black and will retail for $200.
