Just like in Action Sports, there is a saying in Las Vegas that goes, “Go Hard or Go Home”, which runs prevalent on any day of the week.  All you have to do is open your eyes and no matter if you’re inside, outside, at the pool, in the lobby, the club, or wherever, you will see bros going all out like there is no tomorrow.  You have to admit that there is a lot to admire in “Go Hard or Go Home” because they’re really living for the moment, and I personally always like to live for the moment.  And being a Las Vegas connoisseur, I can give you the best advice where you can go hard or go home.

First of all, forget all the big monstrosities they call casinos, which are actually like corporate run banks with clever flashy light used to induce rapid cash spending from their customers.  You have to go to the real spots like CIRCUS CIRCUS or CASINO ROYALE.  These are the type of places that give the initial impression that they don’t care because of its lackluster appearance.  Sure CLOWNS are outdated, and okay, it’s true that most casinos don’t use 1970’s flashing lights anymore, but what small casino can keep up with the corporate mega casinos?  Not these guys but it’s the character that counts most.

Make sure to join the players club.  These smaller casinos players club need to be flashy and stand out from the others so they have really clever names such as “PLAYAS CLUB: FOR THE PLAYA 69 IN YOU”.  You know that these guys put a lot more time into the details such as this.  Compare it to a great indie film.  While other big productions are putting more time and money into special effects, smaller indie films will focus on great writing and direction.  The same thing goes for casinos.

You won’t ever have a difficult time getting a good drink at a small casino.  And along with the drinks are the fine cocktail waitresses.  These ladies know what they’re talking about.  They’ve been in the game for decades now and they still look GREAT.  One time I met one named MAMA MAI, who was from originally from Vietnam.  She had countless stories and had drinks to match.  Great company can’t be overlooked while going hard, so make sure your casino of choice brings the goods.

I hope you understand where I’m coming from.  But to be honest, there are a few good things about the bigger casinos as well.  They do have extra facilities and great restaurants that rival NYC.  Some of the picturesque sites on the property are overwhelmingly beautiful.  And because they have plenty of money, they can afford to host great events like the one coming up this November 7th.

Skateboarding’s own philanthropist is at it again working hard for the every day skater.
The Las Vegas Strip has seen some incredible productions over the years, but Saturday, November 7 will mark the first time the world of action-sports descends upon the Wynn Las Vegas resort for a day of fun and festivities for the whole family, all to benefit an important cause. Tony Hawk: RIDE Presents Stand Up For Skateparks is an outdoor action-sports carnival, featuring a Vert Demo with top skateboarding and BMX pros, including Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek, Jamie Bestwick, Andy Macdonald, Simon Tabron, Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins, and others riding on Hawk’s personal ramp, plus a special musical performance by Rancid.

Now in its sixth year, Tony Hawk: RIDE Presents Stand Up For Skateparks raises critical funds to support the Tony Hawk Foundation’s mission to bring high-quality, free public skateparks to youth in low-income communities across the U.S. A special Pledge Drive at the event will also raise funds to help rebuild Freedom Skatepark, which serves at-risk youth in Las Vegas.
