It is always awesome when you get a fairly large gathering of people who are tied together to a particular industry under one roof.  It’s a special moment in time because it’s rare to get so many busy schedules to coincide with one another to create something quite beautiful.  And with so many talented individuals involved, the result can be extraordinary.  “We Are The World” written by Michael Jackson wasn’t sung under a roof but got over 40 musicians and artist together on one stage to raise money for hunger in Africa.  I can still remember being a kid and getting excited whenever LIONEL RICHIE sang his part.

VINCE MCMAHON, was the best at getting top celebrities together under one roof.  Every year he and the WWF would put on a Royal Rumble that would outdo the previous year’s.  Hulk Hogan beating on Sgt. Slaughter?  How could this be?  Tito Santana going up against RICK MARTEL?  Who would have known?  The BUSHWHACKERS licking each others faces?  That’s crazy!  But Vince was able to make it happen year after year.

The Museum Of Modern Art (MOMA) just experienced a very similar gathering to the two mentioned above just recently.  It was originally announced that world famous director Spike Jonze (Adaptation, “WHAT’S UP, FATLIP?”) and Patrick O’Dell were hosting an evening of Q & A on the topic of skateboarding.  It turned out to be much more than that.

Go over to the pinkcrackkills website for an entire rundown of the event.
