Skateboarding has many icons and living, skating, legends who have made their mark on the progression of skateboarding.  Just look at SIMON WOODSTOCK.  Before him, everyone for the most part took skateboarding ultra SERIOUS.  He pretty much lightened the mood, giving birth to the cook, clown SKATER. Or how about in the example of Paul Higgins?   He proved that you even if you don’t know the names of certain skateboard tricks, you can make them up on the spot at the X Games.

Well past generations have certainly influenced future generations and this award will honor those skateboarders who have been influential throughout each decade. These are the people who have shaped and lead the movement with their talent and passion and respect is due for their contribution.

One skateboarders from each decade will be honored during the IASC, Go Skateboarding Foundation Fundraiser to be held October 24, 2009 at the Vans Skatepark in Orange, CA.

While there are a multitude of talented skateboarders who could be (and eventually will be) honored, only a select few skateboarders were included on this ballot.
This will be an annual award given to the most influential skateboarders from each decade.

Please choose only one from each decade.
