Spike Jonze Featured In the New York Times

I’m not sure if kids these days read books anymore but back in my day when entertainment wasn’t as diluted with television, video games, and the internet, we read books.  Especially when we were young, we loved going to our local library to check out the same book (for the hundredth time).   Whether it was the newest edition of everyone’s favorite Jewish family, the BERENSTAIN BEARS, or the exciting adventures of the BABYSITTERS CLUB, we all had our favorites.

Mine of course was Maurice Sendak’s mystical story of WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE.  Not to get it mixed up with the 90’s hit film WILD THINGS, this book influenced not only me, but many of my friends as well.  Not Brian though; he was too busy reading Playgirl.

Spike Jonze, who is in the home stretch of production for his film adapting the book, has a sweet tender piece in the NEW YORK TIMES.  For those of you who are big fans of Spike, you probably won’t learn anything new from the article except that Banana Republic has a 30% off sale this weekend.  But that’s from an advertisement.  CHECK IT!
