Antwuan Dixon Newest Addition To Ashbury Eyewear

I’ve traveled the world quite a bit and while on the road, I have seen my share of awesome tattoos.   It’s great to see, as I travel each country, the cultural divide that can be easily represented by some fantastic bodywork.  The STORIES that these fellow tattoo enthusiasts share with me are out of this world.  Plus being a tattoo FANATIC myself, I can easily appreciate the amount of time and work it takes to create something so permanent but meaningful. 

Now of course with hundreds of thousands of new tattoos being created every day, there are bound to be a few bad ones here and there.  Like I understand why you would get a LOVED ONE tattooed on your arm and that’s sweet and all.  But I think something so personal should be left in your memory.  I also think that gang banging is stupid.  Sure FACE TATTS look really tough, but I can’t support those who terrorize their own neighborhoods. 

But when it comes to the tattoos I love, there are three that stick out the most in my years of traveling.  When I lived in Berlin, I met this fellow at a rave named Titan.  Not only did he share with me the story behind his unique tatts, he also tried to give me a friendship bracelet. 

While I was in Iceland, I met a nice gentleman named Kristbjörg Baltasar.  He was the bouncer at one of the local pubs.  His name was difficult to pronounce for most tourist so everyone just called him Mr. Ice.  Mr. Cool Ice to be exact. 

And finally, while in Dallas Texas, I met this girl who was madly in love with Patrick Swayze.  She wrote him love letters on a weekly basis and vowed to write him every week until he writes back.  Unfortunately Patrick never replied.  So to really get his attention, she came up with this drawing and tatted it on her leg. 

As you can see, I really love tattoos and speaking of tattoos, ANTWUAN DIXON, who has a few tatts himself, is the newest addition to ASHBURY Eyewear.  I just hope those shades don’t cover up his wonderful artwork too much though.
