The legalization of marijuana in the state of California is apparent everywhere you go. Just walk down MELROSE AVE. and you will see not just multiple head shops, but multiple authorized medicinal marijuana clinics. It’s great to see so many people BENEFITING from this valuable California legislation. But beyond just the medical purposes, I think it’s safe to say that we see a lot of influence from the drug in our media. And that includes trippy, psychedelic, skate contests too.
We have finally arrived to the culmination of the most unique skate contest out there presented by Transworld Skate. Just yesterday we saw the SEX & THE CITY inspired piece presented by the DC team. Who would have known RYAN SMITH would make such a great diva? It’s a surprise they didn’t win, especially the way they portrayed San Francisco. Although they must have been deducted a few points for not adding CASTRO STREET. But perhaps it’s also because we haven’t seen what etnies has to show yet. Is it possible for the etnies team to create something so mind blowing that it could surpass DC’s take on the 4 girls from NYC?
Well like I mentioned above, there are definitely marijuana inspired aspects to this video. Hallucinations always equate to dream sequences in film because it’s the easy way out. But everyone knows that the kid at the beginning of this video definitely sparked one up in order for him to get where he ended up. In addition, the way the filmmaker made ERIC KOSTON look 15 years younger is amazing. Enjoy and congratulations to etnies.
