When you’re out there busting your arse every day and you excel in what you do, you are sure to be rewarded.  Lago had a strong 2008-2009 winter season. At the 2009 Winter X Games in Aspen, Colo., Lago placed second in Slopestyle. Less than a month later, at the 2009 Winter Dew Tour in Lake Tahoe, Calif., he took third overall in Halfpipe. Lago’s season came to a close with a win in the US Open of Snowboarding in Quarterpipe, and a third in Slopestyle, securing him the award for Most Valuable Rider at the US Open of Snowboarding.

“I am super excited to be a part of the MATADOR team,” said Lago. “It is awesome that MATADOR is psyched on what we are doing in snowboarding.”

“Scotty’s fun-loving nature is exactly what the MATADOR brand is all about,” said Jeff LeFever director of marketing, Jack Link’s Beef Jerky. “With the addition of Scotty, MATADOR now has a presence in winter sports. We look forward to being a part of the snowboard community.”

In addition to sponsoring Lago, MATADOR by Jack Link’s also supports skateboarder Adam Taylor, and BMX rider Dennis Enarson, as well professional and grassroots action sports events such as the 2009 Dew Tour, Camp Woodward and Snowboarder Magazine’s America’s Next Top Pro Model.
