As retail stores across the country are closing down, it leaves us COOL GUYS with limited access to COOL GEAR. I’m a frequent shopper of the MELROSE area in Los Angeles and to my dismay, there are shops closing down every month. There are only a few strongholds left on Melrose, which include Booth 7, where I buy my presale Rave event tickets on a weekly basis, Gunz, where I buy my CLUBBING SHIRTS, and the Ed Hardy flagship store. They goodness for them or how else would I keep up my LOOK?
But there are some brands who despite the economic downturn, are surprisingly thriving in a time of recession. VANS skate shoes are expanding with a new store opening up at Belmont Shore in Long Beach, California. Come celebrate the grand opening of the newest Vans Store on Saturday, August 15. It’s a big bonus to non-skaters because Vans aren’t just for skaters anymore. ANYONE can stylishly sport them.
Come hang out with Johnny Layton, Tony Alva, Christian Hosoi and Ray Barbee who will be signing autographs followed by a live acoustic performance by Barbee. The Vans “What If” skate bus will be parked outside the store all day, so bring your board and try out the mini ramp (Under 18? remember to bring your parent to fill out a waiver before you shred). Also, there will be a ton of free Vans giveaways all day while supplies last.
