Alex Perelson 900’s His Way To Fame

Extreme sports through the years have seen a small number of extreme athletes who at one time or another, pull off a maneuver impossible to the rest of the world.  These athletes have that extra will power running through their veins.  That will power is also known as blood, guts, and glory.  Without these key ingredients, we may never have seen a human being pull off a 900.  Now for those of you who are novices, or just plain mathematically challenged, a 900 is a stunt where the trained athlete rotates their body a total of 2.5 times while in the air using their extreme tools.  Just try to do that in your living room.  Not easy is it?

In recent memory, there have been only a handful of 900’s that totally blew the action sports world away.  The first one of course is MAT HOFFMAN’s no handed 900 at the 2002 X Games.  It takes major nards to pull something off like that because one slip, your nards can potentially shatter on your bike seat.

The other obvious 900 that comes to mind is the one most known to by all of you.  The BRIAN ARAGON top soul to 900 pulled in ’07.  Not since KRISTI YAMAGUCHI’s Cha Cha have we seen something so graceful.

And finally, my favorite 900 of them all.  It’s also the most obscure 900 ever witnessed by man.  ADAM PANG’s 900 in my opinion tops them all.

Alex Perelson just added his name to an exclusive list.  This time last week, nobody knew who the kid was.  But today, he is basking in the glory that came with the Maloof Money Cup.  In the vert competition, Alex Perelson pulled off the elusive 900 during his skate routine, earning him the vert championship.  He is now $75,000 richer and is probably partying with Matt Hoffman, Brian Aragon, and Adam Pang as we speak.

Check out the amazing stunt below.

  3. Haha, A 900 in vert is SICK, but I remember Tony’s 1080’s from years ago. I am personally stoked that sk8ing has not died despite their lack of progression vert…
