For those of you that aren’t familiar with Dinosaur Jr; here is a little info about the band from their Wikipedia page: “Dinosaur Jr. is an American alternative rock band formed in Amherst, Massachusetts in 1984. Originally called Dinosaur prior to legal issues that forced the group to change their name, the band disbanded in 1997 until reuniting in 2005. Guitarist J Mascis, bassist Lou Barlow and drummer Murph were the band’s founding and current members; however, Mascis has been the group’s sole continual member.

Their distinct sound, characterized by high gain, extensive use of feedback and distortion, and frontman J Mascis’s melodic guitar solos, were highly influential in the alternative rock movement of the 1990s, which is exemplified by the success of acknowledged fans Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, among others.”

Dinosaur Jr is no stranger to working with folks in the action sports world. The video for “Feel the Pain” was directed by former BMX magazine writer and skate video director Spike Jonze (if you have been living under a rock and have no idea who Spike is, click here to see his Wikipedia page). Now the band has made the video you see above, starring the skating skills of Etnies team rider, Kyle Leeper and the BMX skills of FBM Bike Company team riders, Kenny Horton and Joel Bartnett.

I don’t know about Kyle but I would have been sweating my butt of wearing that gnarly wig whilst skating. Kyle seems to do just fine and land some pretty awesome tricks in the video. Also look for a cameo from famous “Minutemen” bassist, Mike Watt.
