HCSC and Windell’s Campers to Battle it Out at Bonfire Pipe to Pipe July 11

There have been a lot of great battles throughout the ages: David vs. Goliath, Allied vs. Axis, Backstreet Boys vs. N*Sync.; one battle that stands out for me is one from my high school years:
Two of my best friends growing up are now each others’ best friends but it wasn’t always like that. When Matt first moved into our neighborhood he was the new kid, so at first everyone kind of picked on him, for being the new kid. As time went by everyone laid off and realized that Matt was a good guy.
As most of you know, when a kid is bullied he usually bullies the kid who is smaller than him. David was the next kid on the chain of bullying and so he got it bad, especially from Matt.
One day David walked out the door of his house only to be tackled by Matt and held down while Matt took his shoes off and threw them on the roof of his house. There are many ways to retaliate to this form of aggression but David picked the most creative one I have ever heard of; he punched Matt in the stomach and threw fresh dog poo at him with his bare hand.
To make a long story short, Matt beat David within an inch of his life for throwing dog poo at him and now almost 20 years later those two guys are best friends.
HCSC & Windell’s snowboarding camp are holding a pipe to pipe contest that sound like a epic battle from AM dominance, let’s hope it doesn’t end up in poo throwing:
Which snowboard camp has the best up and coming Ams? The battle begins July 11th at Windell’s snowboard camp at Timberline resort, where 10 coveted spots will be reserved to represent the campers of High Cascade Snowboard Camp.
HCSC Session 3 campers who are ready to rumble on the rails with Windell’s need to contact the HCSC office by the beginning of the session to pre-register for the rail jam.
Sawyer Deen, took home the title in 2007, and managed to pick up a sponsorship with Bonfire and Salomon snowboards in the process. He will be back and riding with the Pro’s to battle it out for the 2K cash purse prize.
Windell’s campers who plan on competing can register at camp. Registration is also open to the public, for both Ams and Pros. Registration is free, with the purchase of a Timberline lift pass, but there are a limited number of spots available so register early starting at 9am at Timberline’s Wy East Day Lodge.
Sponsors for the event include: Bonfire Snowboarding, Windell’s, Red Bull, Timberline, Scion, Skullcandy, Salomon Snowboards, Transworld Snowboarding, Dragon Optics, the Art Institute of Portland, Magical Go Go and Pom Pom Wax and Shralp.com — where you can peep footage of each event.
