Road trips are the bomb. Nothing feels better than hitting the open road with a few friends to venture out into the heartland jumping from adventure to adventure. Unfortunately now that gas prices are sky high and are on the rise, road trips are becoming less frequent these days. Even HEWELL HOWSER if finding it difficult to scrounge up some dough for a good road trip. But not to worry because with the amount of road trip films Hollywood dishes out from time to time, they become the final resort to get us away from reality.
Lucky for you I’m a film expert and today I will share with you my top 3 road trip films of all time. Now of course there are the obvious road trip classics such as Easy Rider, ARE WE THERE YET, and The Wizard of Oz, but today I will expose you to some of the more obscure road trip films that I’m sure a majority of you have never seen.
1. THE WIZARD – Skateboarding, video games, gambling, Jenny Lewis, KEVIN ARNOLD. What more can anyone ask for? When it comes to complete road trip movies, the Wizard has it all.
2. ARMAGEDDON – Sure this isn’t the typical road trip movie but the film contains one of the most beautiful scenes in cinema history. Bruce Willis and Ben Afleck tell each other “I love you”. How romantic.
3. CROSSROADS – This movie showcases a relatively good-looking BRITNEY SPEARS and also stars Dan Aykroyd. A recipe for good viewing.
Once you’re done watching these road trip classics, Patrick O’Dell has a skate road trip of his own for you to watch and enjoy. Beauty and the Beast Girl/Antihero documentary starts now.
