Bestwick is Best - Jamie Bestwick Wins Vert at Nike 6.0 BMX Open

Jamie Bestiwck doesn’t appear to have missed a beat after dominating the BMX Vert finals at the Nike 6.0 BMX Open in Chicago, the first event of the 2009 Dew Tour. The action will be shown tonight on USA network (I’m on the west coast) so maybe some more details about how he won it after that — or if we get a press release.
Trailing Bestwick on the podium were Simon Tabron and Steve McCann. Chad Kagy, who went mano a mano against Bestwick all of last season was well out of the running in ninth place. Not sure what happened there. Big ups to K-Rob back in the top five with a 90.38. Injury held him out of most of the tour last season.
The Dew Tour officially concludes with the Vert finals since it’s the only discipline being featured in Chicago (hence the name) — next month Boston will host the second event (an all skateboarding one).
More to come — including some video highlights!
