Wait what?  K-Swiss has a skateboard team?  That was my first impression when I first heard about this.  Not only was I shocked to hear that they now have a skate division, I was also shocked to hear that one of my contemporary skateboard heroes rocks the Swiss too!  Finally!  Someone as cool as me and my FRIENDS validates how sweet these kicks really are.  Sure they don’t have the street cred like Nike.  No they aren’t the most popular shoe brand on the block like Lakai.  And of course they don’t have the bankroll that LA GEARS are ever so blessed to have.

So let me drop a little knowledge on what K-Swiss is.  First of all, don’t let the name fool you.  K-Swiss is not Korean.  It actually started by two Swiss brothers who immigrated to Los Angeles back in the 60’s who believed tennis shoes should be made out of leather.  It’s fitting that K-Swiss’s first skate sponsor is Greg Lutzka because the brand has evolved into the most extreme footwear for extreme people.  And when I say “people”, I really mean LONERS

The brand already has a few extreme sponsors such as the international sensation, “LEAP CONSPIRACY”, the Walnut High School MATHLETES, and now Greg Lutzka.  Check out his new K-Swiss vid below.

  3. sorry, didn’t watch the video yet, now hold up.

the guy with the “sample book” dosen’t get it. sorry, just plain dosen’t get it. skateboarding is not tennis, and even though i wasn’t down at first, nike, adidas, and converse have all made quality skate shoes with SKATEBOARDING in mind. Nike didn’t say, heyy how can we make our shox be a skate shoe? what i’m seeing with k-swiss is, how can we make our tennis shoe from the fucking sixties be a skate shoe?

and lutzka? they better be paying you highhh fucking dollar.

  4. I’ve looked up to K-Swiss for a long time. A few months ago I feel that as a business it had taken their eyes off the ball. For a while the company’s eye for design was not what it used to be and IME, the quality of the goods went south. HAVING SAID THAT, now I think K-Swiss have become tops even though they are not the cheapest trainers.
