Go Skateboarding Day NYC Postponed

We here on the West Coast had a great day of skating this past weekend when we celebrated Go Skateboarding Day. In the tradition of skateboarding for an entire day, we skated everywhere, which included the DMV. Thinking that the rest of the world had a great time just as we did, I came across some news that it had been raining all day in New York City and most of the kids out there decided to forego skateboarding. I was really disappointed to hear this news. I couldn’t believe that skaters across town would allow a little rain to dampen their celebration.
Here’s a little word of advice for you east coast to cool for school dudes. Rain will not kill you. What, are you afraid that the water will damage your new Lutzka K-Swiss kicks? Even PAT DUFFY can skate in the rain. Even some of the world’s biggest PERFORMERS won’t let a little rain stop them from doing what they love. As for me, besides skateboarding, I love to dance. I really love to dance. I especially love to dance in the rain. It’s so liberating.
Anyway, make sure you go skateboarding this weekend, given the weather cooperates, and celebrate Go Skateboarding Day attempt #2. It should be a blast and everyone who’s everyone will be out. I’ll even try to make it. But expect me to be there on my BIKE.
